Date: Fri Apr 25, 5:30 PM EST - Fri Apr 25, 7:00 PM EST
The Girl Scout Tree Promise (GSTP) provides Girl Scouts with an
opportunity to act as environmental stewards and work to slow climate
change on a national platform. It invites every Girl Scout and friend
of the Movement to help plant 5 million trees in 5 years while
protecting and honoring many more. Through this program, girls explore
how planting and protecting trees benefits their own communities by
cleaning the air, cooling neighborhoods, and preventing erosion while
also providing shade, places for animals to live, food for us to eat,
and natural beauty for our communities.
We will take the
GSTP by finding out how trees help the environment and exploring trees
in our favorite outdoor spaces.
We will demo a tree
planting at Camp Edey and girls will get a tree seedling to take
home!
Girls will earn the GSTP patch.
