For Senior & Ambassador Girl Scouts

Mentor young girls in a camp setting as you build skills toward becoming a camp counselor.  To earn this award, complete these steps:

  1. Complete the training course 
  2. Work directly with younger girls in a camp setting 

To be eligible for this training, girls must be in 9th grade.  Girls will receive their CIT I pin upon completion of their volunteer session at Summer Camp.

Covered in this training:

  • Learning what to expect from younger campers as they develop 
  • Managing groups of campers in a camp environment
  • Inspiring younger campers to be leaders in their own lives
  • Engaging campers in the processes: Girl Led, Learning By Doing and Cooperative Learning
  • Facilitating Journey activities at camp
  • Understanding and applying safety guidelines
  • Teaching younger campers outdoor skills
  • Appreciating the culture and history of our camps
  • Facilitating a summer camp experience for younger campers 
  • Celebrating successes

Girls will receive their CIT I pin upon completion of this course Girls must arrive on time and bring a bag lunch.   



 Registered Child:  $10
 Non-Registered Child:  $40

In order to become a CIT at Summer Camp, girls must have completed 9th grade and register for a position at Summer Camp.
